ZZIPCO carries a complete line of machined guide rails, guide rails for high speed application and components to form the integrated hoistway systems
STANDARD MACHINED GUIDE RAILS

Note:
- All dimensions in inches unless otherwise specified.
- All standard size guide rails come in length of 8′ or 16′. Add “8F” & “16F” to ZZIPCO Part No. for 8′ and 16′ length respectively. (See packing below)
- Custom machined lengths are available.
- Certain rail sizes are in stock in US.
STANDARD GUIDE RAIL BUNDLE PACKING
Guide rails are packed in bundles, wrapped with weather resistant tarp and metal cover mounted at each end in order to protect the tongue and groove on each rail. Each bundle is clamped with 2 sets of steel brackets that help keep the bundle together during transport and handling. Rails come with a coat of rust preventative oil for indoor storage. As an option, special wax can be applied for longer periods of indoor and outdoor storage.

FISHPLATES SPECIFICATIONS

We also offer custom and special application fishplate design and manufacturing

HANDLING AND STORING T-RAILS SPECIFICATIONS

Handling, storing and maintaining elevator guide rails is very important.
HANDLING T-RAILS
Handling, storing and maintaining elevator guide rails is very important.
Safety precautions come first when handling elevator rails. Be sure your forklift operator has been certified. Be aware of the lift capacity and maximum height capacity of your forklift. Also, check all your slings and hardware used to lift the rails. If any of the apparatus you plan to use do not meet specifications of the load, do not use them. If any of your sling apparatus is damaged in any way, or has visible signs of stress or deterioration, do not use them. Always, work safe and use proper equipment for each handled task.

Guide rails bundles have to be handled with forklifts or a crane using 2 slings from the center of the bundle, having a minimum distance between the two pickup points of 7 feet apart. Depending on the length of the rail, the distance from this point to the end will vary. On a common 16 feet rail, you will have 4 1/2′ feet on each side. It is not recommended to lift more than one bundle at a time.

STORING GUIDE RAILS
Stored elevator rails should be positioned horizontally on wooden battens, each level of stored bundles must have wooden battens support. All these wooden battens have to be located in the same position on each bundle. This is very important to prevent any deformation that could become permanent, and therefore loss of linearity properties of the t rails. The correct distribution of the wooden battens depends on the length of the rail. Here we show a correct placement for 16′ rails.

MAINTAINING GUIDE RAILS
This information refers to rust preservatives to be used on rail guides for storage purposes and the cleaners to be used. For outdoor storage, the recommended rust preservative is wax (Tectyl 506 EH) applied at a thickness of 20-30 µ. Oil is not recommended for a rust preservatives for outdoors. Wax will protect rails between 1 to 3 months for outdoor storage and between 6 to 12 month on indoor storage. Oil can be used for rust prevention only for indoor storage and will last between 1 to 3 months. Remember that all this data could change according to environmental humidity and salinity.
